Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the 'Kisan Suryodan Yojana' which is beneficial for the farmers of Gujarat. The Gujarat government is preparing to implement the Kisan Suryodaya Yojana in three years so that the farmers of Gujarat get electricity throughout the year during the day.
Under the scheme, the government said there was a time in the state when farmers had to go to farms in the dark of night, when electricity was available only at night to force farmers to go amidst fears of wild animals for irrigation.

It may be noted that this was decided by the BJP government at the Center and announced a farmer-oriented scheme, which would provide adequate electricity to the farmers of Gujarat not only at night but also during the day, for which and that is why Rs 3500 crore has been implemented in Gujarat.

If we talk about our Gujarat, the sons of the earth from 1540 villages of Dahod, Junagadh and Gir-Somnath will be covered under this Kisan Suryodaya Yojana in the first phase. It is noteworthy that the target has been set to achieve 12 gigawatts of unconventional power generation capacity by the end of the year 2022. Farmers had to wake up under the guise of fear of lions and panthers to divert water to their fields due to night power. More than 4,000 farmers in 369 villages of Gir-Somnath Junagadh and 296 power feeders of Amreli district have been included in the first phase of the scheme under this scheme.
Under Kisan Suryodaya Yojana, 500 km circuit transmission line will be established in next two to three years. Due to which 1000 villages will get the benefit of this scheme in the initial stage. Completion of the scheme will make a big difference in the daily lives of millions of farmers. Gujarat started providing 8 hours electricity through Jyotigram scheme. Now Kisan Suryoday Yojana will provide electricity to Gujarat farmers even during the day. So that farmers do not have to cultivate by waking up at night.
